Submission Guidelines

Submitting Your Work

We are accepting submissions for the Spring 2010 issue until May 15th.

Notice: OZP will no longer accept submissions during the months of January, June, July, and August. Please observe these new restrictions when submitting your work.

We accept electronic submissions in the categories of fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, plays, one-acts, translations, and interviews. All submissions to Ozone Park Journal must be original, unpublished work in English. We welcome simultaneous submissions with the understanding that you will inform us if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Formatting

Manuscripts must be sent as a single Microsoft Word .doc file. Prose should be double-spaced, and poetry should be single-spaced. It should be in twelve-point type. Send a cover letter and up to three poems, a ten-page excerpt of a play, or prose of up to 7500 words.  Translated work should include both an English translation and a copy of the work in the original language. Any translations must include proof of rights granted by the original publisher or author if the piece has not been published.

Response Time

We will inform you within three months whether we will accept your work for publication. If you have not heard from us within this time, e-mail us. Include your name, the title of your work, and the date you sent it.

Rights

By submitting your work to OZP, you indicate your consent for us to publish your work in our print journal. OZP acquires first North American serial rights. After publication, all rights revert to the author.
